Dr. Clement Agboma (Ph.D., P.Geo.) has over 23 years progressive experience completing various projects relating to regulatory issues for various environmental media, water resources development and management, hydrological and hydraulic modelling, climate change assessment, environmental impact assessments (EIAs), flood hazard and flood risk assessments as well as in groundwater studies and modelling. Dr. Agboma has led and managed multiple complex projects comprising multi-stakeholder interest groups, relating to surface water and groundwater sourcing studies for numerous clients both nationally and internationally. He has led large and small projects relating to mine water management, dam breach/break studies and assessments, surface water-groundwater interactions as well as in local and regional groundwater assessments. He is the Lead Water Resources Engineer for multiple EIAs for oil and gas, mineral and mining, insurance and government sector clients. Dr. Agboma has completed major water resources projects for international organizations, such as the World Bank, the Caribbean Development Bank, numerous Oil and Gas companies as well as for the Insurance Bureau of Canada. Dr. Agboma has tremendous expertise in geophysical data acquisition, processing and interpretation. He is an expert developer of advanced numerical models using MIKE-SHE, MIKE-11, MIKE-21, MIKE-URBAN, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HSPF, FEFLOW, MODFLOW, GOLDSIM, EPA-SWMM, VIC and a host of other surface water and groundwater models. Dr. Agboma also has extensive experience development optimized algorithms and applications using programming languages, such as Fortran 90, Python, R, UNIX scripting, PERL and GrADS in conjunction with expert abilities in the use of MATLAB, MINITAB, ArcGIS and various statistical applications. His expertise also spans into machine learning and artificial intelligence for conducting various assessments, such as environmental forensics and data mining and advanced analytics. He has led extensive business development activities; including proposal development, pre-qualifications, expressions of interest, and relationship building with managed clients and emerging clients. Dr. Agboma has authored and co-authored a number of technical articles in internationally refereed journals.
Mr. Barnes has over 20 years of top-notch experience and leadership in water management, physical and contaminant hydrogeology, hydrology, and regulatory permitting applications. His track record demonstrates a unique ability to devise innovative solutions for complex hydrological challenges, leveraging a comprehensive skill set. His expertise includes surface water-groundwater assessments and interaction investigations, geochemistry, contaminant assessments, water balance modeling, water treatment, water supply, mine pit dewatering and depressurization (design, construction, surveillance, optimization and closure). Mr. Barnes has developed or supervised the development and application of numerous analytical, numerical groundwater flow, and contaminants transport models. Models have been utilized for water management, permitting and compliance monitoring, operational forecasts, remediation and closure planning.
Mr. Barnes has led tailings management strategies, tailings dam seepage assessments and controls, and mine-influenced water transport and capture predictions. He has managed hydrogeological field investigations ranging from aquifer-aquitard characterization/mapping, installation of monitoring and
pumping/extraction wells, piezometers, waste disposal wells, infiltration galleries, drinking water supply wells, and geophysical logging to aquifer response testing (slug and pumping tests). He has led numerous environmental impact assessments (EIAs), environmental site assessments (ESAs), risk assessments, mitigation and remediation of impacted soil and groundwater systems as well as supported geotechnical investigations/designs, development of engineering standards, best practices, and training. Key software knowledge includes Modflow, Feflow, Modpath, MT3D, GSFLOW, HydroGeoSphere, GoldSim, Leapfrog, mining visualization system (MVS), Surfer, ArcGIS, Aquachem, Aqtesolv, AquiferTest Pro, EQuIS, AcQuire, among others.
Mr. Barnes combines technical expertise with strategic insight, evidenced by his contributions to industry water management committees and his support in regulatory hearings and litigation cases. His dedication to fostering strong stakeholder relations and his proven track record of independently supporting diverse operations, such as open pit mines, underground mines and associated facilities underscore his reputation as a respected leader in the industry.
As a registered hydrogeologist in Canada and the United States, Mr. Barnes brings a wealth of expertise and leadership from the Oil and Gas, Hard-rock mining, and consulting spaces, and a relentless commitment to excellence to every project he undertakes.
